Introducing Amelia “Millie” 😘

Before anyone considers adopting Ms. Millie, please know that we will be very selective with her placement.

Millie is a 2 year old German Shepherd, and currently weighs 80lbs. She is potty trained, doesn’t pay much attention to cats, and does well with dogs closer to her size. She came to us from a partnering rescue after she was removed from her “owner” and “home” by local authorities. At the time Millie had 8 – 1ish week old puppies, and her owner neglected to report that upon removal. Millie managed to escape her kennel at the local animal control facility, and lived on the run for a month, while eluding her capture. During her time on the run, we received her puppies. Unfortunately we lost 4 puppies, but were able to bottle feed and save 4!

Millie was reunited with her puppies in August, and has since then learned manners, and found the most comfortable spot on the couch! Millie needs a home that has lots of experience with this breed. She is very intelligent, can escape fences, and kennels. She prefers to spend her time with her people. She’s very loyal, and snuggly once she is comfortable. She can be intimidating and shy initially, but turns into a Velcro dog shortly after meeting new people.

Millie needs a home that will provide her with mental stimulation, exercise, patience, and lots of love. She is a working breed, and is looking for a job. With the right owner, Millie has the potential of accomplishing great tasks!

She has been spayed, is up to date on core vaccines, has been dewormed, given monthly flea and tick preventative, and is heartworm negative.

Her adoption fee is $85 but any potential adopter still needs an approved adoption application.
