Sanctuary Pictures: It's Almost A Home! When you visit the shelter you are taken on a tour of the facility. ![]() The living room has a fireplace, antique furniture, and a feral cat condo. The oak cat condos were designed by a vet specifically for long term housing. The design encourages climbing and stretching which keeps the lymphatic and mental systems stimulated. Each has a private, ventilated litter box space with individual litter scoops to prevent the spread of diseases. ![]() The dogs are kept in size-appropriate kennels to make house-breaking them easier, which alleviates a major hurdle. Walls in the dog room have been decorated by local children's groups. The dogs are walked outside several times a day, and even have futons to curl up on.
![]() Stainless steel/tempered glass cages are used in the isolation and kitten rooms to allow privacy and viewing. These eliminate the transmission of diseases from cage to cage and create a healthier environment. Kitten room felines are let out of their cages every night and have fun playing in their room. |
